Seven misunderstandings of tire use

  1. Misunderstanding when choosing

The tires of the same specification and model are divided into two types for cars and trucks. For example, 185R14 is for cars and 185R14C is for trucks. Although the difference is different, the load and performance of the tires are very different, so they cannot be mixed and substituted. It is very dangerous to use low-load tires to drive at high speed under overload conditions.

Two, do not inflate according to regulations

When the tire is over-inflated, the cushioning force of the tire is weakened, the vibration of the locomotive is increased, the irregular pressure of the tire is increased, the rolling resistance is increased, and the inner tube may even burst when encountering a large impact; if the tire pressure is too low, it will cause If the tire is deformed too much, the rolling resistance will increase, the tire is easy to heat, age and damage, and shorten the service life.

  1. Excessive gear shifting, starting and braking

When the car is running, if the gear shift is too strong when starting, it will not only aggravate the deformation of the carcass, but also cause severe friction between the tread and the ground, especially on uneven roads or roads with spikes, stones, bricks, etc. Severe; if a car brakes too hard, it will often cause the car body to “slide”, causing sliding friction between the tires and the ground, and accelerating tire wear.

  1. Long-term sun, wind and rain

Long-term sunlight, wind, and rain will cause tires to deteriorate and shorten their service life. Therefore, when storing the car for a long time, it should be placed in a dry, cool and dark room, and the fuselage should be supported to avoid permanent deformation and aging of the tire.

Five, increase the load of the car at will

Most cars have an approved load capacity. If the car is overloaded for a long time and exceeds the design capacity of the tire, it will often cause early accelerated wear of the tire and premature damage. Therefore, do not arbitrarily increase the load of the car.

  1. Use sharp and sharp tools to disassemble and install tires

When disassembling the tire, it is easy to damage the inner and outer tires with sharp and sharp tools, and the carcass cannot be beaten with iron tools. At the same time, please note that when disassembling and installing the tire, do not bring any foreign matter such as sand, lumpy hard objects and oily dirt into the tire to prevent it from puncturing or corroding the tire.

  1. Don’t stay away from oil and alkaline substance pollution

Diesel, engine oil, lubricating oil and other oily substances and substances with strong acids and alkalis have great corrosive power to rubber. Therefore, do not let these substances contact the tires to prevent corrosion and aging, and pay attention to clean the dirt on the tires with water at ordinary times to keep the tires clean.
